Welcome Back!!
Hey folks!! I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving, although I am sure people are not looking forward to the next three weeks at the desk with dead week and finals week coming up. Even with the seemingly endless stress, we have Christmas music playing at the desk, so if you need to unwind and relax. Feel free to stop by the desk!!

Another Quiet Afternoon
Hey folks! I hope everybody is continuing to enjoy their Thanksgiving break. It has been another calm, surprisingly peaceful shift so far, as most people are most likely in their hometowns for break. Hopefully everybody is enjoying this relaxing period before the crunch time of the next three weeks comes

Lady Gaga update
I am halfway through my shift and so far, nobody has come in with the purpose of blasting Lady Gaga (Thank the Lord)
However, fellow Swanson Hall desk worker Michael Melaniphy did bring over some homemade pumpkin pie with some homemade whip cream, so that definitely made my night.
More updates to come as the night progresses

Happy Thanksgiving Break!!
Hey folks!! I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving and is having a great Thanksgiving break! I am working the desk from 7pm to 1am today...and to be honest...I am expecting barely anybody to come by...but if you are on campus, you should stop by the desk.
Although a couple of students are planning to come to the desk and ambush me with sounds of terror and despair (a.k.a. blasting Lady Gaga at the front desk). Hopefully (for my sake) this won't happen...but if anything happens, I will definitely inform the masses (a.k.a. two or three people)

Harry Potter Aftermath
Best Response:
Myself: How was the movie?
Swanson resident #1: It was fine
Myself: (laughs) Wow...that is the normal response I have gotten all night
Swanson resident #2: Yeah...she cried
(laughter)
Myself: Oh...never mind....
Add all of the comments of "OMG!!!!! It was amazing!!!!" and "It was the best thing I have ever seen", the few students that dressed up, and one student castings two spells on me...and it makes for a rather...interesting night after a movie I will never willingly see
(Sidenote: I had one person tell me "Don't bother" with regards to seeing the movie)

Resourceful HP Fans
Q: How do you beat the rush of a midnight showing of a "blockbuster" movie?
A: By sneaking into another school's 10:00 pm premiere of HP7 Part I instead of waiting around til midnight like the rest of those muggles. That is what a few of our brilliant Swanson ladies did tonight
Well done, ladies...well done...

First Post After Hours
By popular demand (and by that I mean my own idea), one of Swanson's desk workers (a mild-mannered person by the name of Werner Nelson) has created his own blog. While some people may consider this a part of a no-holds barred blog war that rivals such greats action flicks like "Bring It On" or "You Got Served" (*cough* Kiewit *cough*), I am writing to simply bring the enjoyment (and weird happenings) of Swanson to everybody out there (a.k.a. the five people that will follow this blog)
And although I act like I do "complain" about my job, I actually enjoy it because of the RAs and residents that live here. They help to make my seemingly boring job that a million times more enjoyable. Even if 99% percent of the hall's population (and probably 99% of the world's population...definitely not exaggerated whatsoever =P) is currently crammed in the movie theaters watching the brand-spanking "epic" Harry Potter movie.
I am always open for suggestions for my blog, so I would be willing to take any questions, comments, or suggestions for my blog. And feel free to stop by the desk...if you are the roughly 1% that ARE NOT seeing the HP movie tonight...as you will probably see it Friday or Saturday night (shaking head)
